Just to let everyone know AJ Brooks, former wrestler of Benny Mitchell's, Sussex Tech grad and 2005 Delaware heavyweight Champion, has qualified for the NCAA Wrestling Championships. AJ won his 2 matches today (both in OT) to reach the championship match of the EWL heavyweight bracket. He will face Mike Spaid of Bloomsburg Sunday afternoon. The EWL championships will be broadcast on Cleveland State's website as well as Clarion's. Brackets can be viewed http://www.wrestlingreport.com/EWL/2007-brackets.pdf AJ asked me to post this to thank Benny and all of the people that coached and worked with him when he was younger both within Benny's organization and outside it. Bobbi Brooks

I really appreciate the graditude shown by both A.J. and you Bobbi. A.J. is a kid that has not and probably never will forget where he came from. A.J. has been one of the hardest working wrestlers over the years. During his high school career he would get home from practice and head down to the RBWC practice for another session for four years. He dedicated himself to improving and probably met and exceeded his own goals. A.J. is my go to guy when a kid is struggling. When one of my kids is ready to hang it up because they aren't having succes I always tell them to go talk to A.J. Brooks. I can't remember many wins by A.J. in elementary school, a few here and there in middle school and by the 8th grade he finally got his nose above water. Once that happened he worked even harder. Congradulations to the Brooks family. But I am sure that just reaching the NCAA's won't satisfy A.J. Benny Mitchell
