The South County Athletic Booster Club is sponsoring the second annual wrestling camp on June 21 and 22. South County is located in Lorton, Virginia approximately 20 minutes south of Washington DC directly off of interstate 95. There is lodging less than a mile from the school with eateries across the street. Last year the camp had wrestlers that were district, region and state place winners. Schools from all over Virginia, Maryland, and Georgia participated in the camp. Wrestlers from schools and clubs such as: Fauquier, First Colonial, Concorde District Club, Central District Club, Annandale Club, Freedom/Broad Run Club, Edison, and Brookwood High School from Georgia were in attendance at this camp. The camp was run like a dual camp, with each wrestler getting over 12 matches in two days. Seven rounds were run the first day and eight rounds the second day. This is an excellent camp for your novice and experienced wrestlers. The South County Summer Camp is all about the wrestlers getting exposure to great levels of competition and more mat time. Two great days of wrestling and building team unity. It will be run like a dual team tournament. All individual wrestlers will be placed on a team. The camp director will be in charge of placing individuals on teams before the camp begins. The cost per wrestler is $40. We are offering a discounted rate of $500 if you bring 14 or more wrestlers to the camp. We are trying to put together 18 teams this year. This would mean eight rounds the first day and nine rounds the second day. Our goal is to get each wrestler as much mat time as possible and expose them to quality wrestling. As of now we have ten schools and or clubs from Virginia and Maryland attending the camp. If you are interested please contact me at Andrew.jimmo@fcps.edu or you can call me at 703-309-3467.
