Eli Norvell in PA States
Former Delaware standout Eli Norvell has quietly returned to the mats at his new Huntingdon High School, and now made his mark in Pennsylvania state wrestling.
In his senior year at Huntingdon, Eli compiled an impressive 29-0 record, plenty good enough to earn a number one seed in the 2007 PIAA AA Wrestling Championships at 145 lbs. Eli won his first two matches to advance to the semi-finals, where he faced four seed Micah Bollinger, from Mifflinburg. Eli lost a close one point decision (8-7), and went to work in the consolation brackets.
In the consolation fourth round, Eli beat Bethlehem Catholic's number two seeded Kyle John, 5-2, to advance to the consolation finals, where he faced Aaron Nestor, from Reynolds. Eli lost this match 7-2 against Nestor, but with his unbeaten regular season, first seed, and fourth place, I'm sure once again, people are noticing Delaware wrestlers, even transplanted ones!!
